Offering rentals, service, sales, and parts since 1974, Happy Daze is a family-owned company in Sacramento that has already created a name in the industry, whether good or bad.

What Happy Daze Tells Us

Happy Daze is quite an expert in RV dealership with over 40 years in service, but some ratings prove otherwise. This entity based in Northern California has two branches in Sacramento and Livermore, and offers not just rentals, but also service, sales, and parts. Targeting not just the rental industry but almost all branches of RV dealership puts the company in good light, partially. The rental department, in particular, has a couple of RVs for hire. 

Over the years, the company has accumulated lots of reviews and some are negative that slightly pulls down the reputation of this family-run business. Still, they have continued their services despite it all. 

Fleet

All rental vehicles on fleet are brand new or close to new Sunseeker models. The motorhomes range from 25 ft. up to 32 ft and sleep 4 to 10 people. Some of these are pet-friendly and can cater small to big groups. As of this writing, there are only 4 choices on hand. Do not expect for a lot of perks, except for the free use of propane and 100 free miles per night. The generator has a charge and you need to bring your own utensils and bedding. 

Vehicles

2017 Sunseeker 2290S

A class C motorhome that sleeps up to 4-6 people, the Sunseeker 2290S is a modern vehicle with all amenities— kitchen with sink, cooktop, microwave, oven, refrigerator, freezer, shower with toilet, queen-sized bed, cab-over bunk, and convertible dinette sleeper. This model comes with a side slideout, so it's pretty roomy inside. The entertainment system includes TV, DVD/CD player, radio, and small armchair. You will also be provided with a backup camera, power awning and bumper hitch for bicycle hack. And if you have lots of stuff, you can place them inside the exterior storage. 

2018 Sunseeker 2500TS

A more recent 6 berth motorhome has almost the same features with the above, but is bigger and roomier at  27 ft. If you're only travelling with 4 people, you have the option to choose either a bunk bed or TV with built-in storage cabinets. This Sunseeker model has a lot of slideouts— from the convertible dinette to the ward drawer and the queen-sized bed at the rear.

2017 Sunseeker 3010DS

For travellers up to 8 people, this close to new vehicle is beautifully fitted out with long kitchen counter for your cooking sessions. This model is unique with its own U-shaped dinette that becomes a comfortable sleeper at night. The first slide-out is situated in the sofa sleeper and extends up to the convertible dinette, and the second one is tailored at the queen-sized bed with nightstand. 

2018 Sunseeker 3170DS

This 2018 Sunseeker is the perfect choice for larger groups up to 10 people. An almost brand new model with serious bells and whistles like two slide-outs ( flip-down bunk and sofa sleeper), 3 LCD flatscreen TVs, nightstand with shirt closet, pantry and more. The 32 ft. motorhome is great for those who need space like walking around or stretching your legs after a long drive.

Insurance

As prescribed by law, the renter must have an auto liability insurance to cover the insurance deductibles. Though all rental motorhomes include an insurance coverage, you will be liable for the first $1,000 per accident. There are no liability options to reduce the liability, so make sure to wander around safely.

Reputation

Happy Daze is very popular in northern California, and has a lot of reviews to define the company (though not really as a whole). Since the company does not only offer rentals, but also sales, service and parts, the reviews are not just for the rental department itself. In particular, the rental motorhomes are quite attractive, especially that these are very recent models with less wear and tear issues. It caters the small to large groups up to 10 people, and each RV has certain distinct features, making it suitable for different travellers. 

Summary

Despite being in the rental industry for quite while, Happy Daze shows that each traveller should, of course, still rent with caution. Well, each rental is unique and you cannot please everyone. The not-so extensive rental fleet of 4 to 10 berth motorhomes, however, caters almost all sizes, so you'll have a choice whether you're travelling with a small group or with a larger crowd.
